Can You Walk to the Restaurants?  

The restaurants would be a pleasant strole in the summer, the nearest is about 1 mile from the chalet.  In the winter, if you don't wish to drive, there are taxi services.  Alternatively we are in contact with a company called "Mrs Miggins" who can cater for you in the chalet, either for the full week - breakfast, tea and dinner plus cleaning etc - or on an ad hoc nightly basis.  They will pre-prep then cook, serve and clear up.  They look pretty good although we have no first hand experience.  They are a small company so booking in advance will be essential.

 How Close is the Chalet to the Nearest Lift?

The chalet is about 700 m from the nearest lift.  This can be reached by free shuttle bus that leaves from the bottom of the lane a stone’s throw from the front door.  There is also a large car park there so is easy to reach by car.  There is another shuttle bus that leaves from the top of the lane, again a stone’s throw from the front door but this one takes you to Chatel centre, where you will find the Super chatel lift and links with all shuttle buses to all the lifts in the valley..

 How Many Does the Chalet Sleep?

The chalet has two double bedrooms, a twin, a room with two singles and a set of bunk beds, and a smaller room with a set of bunk beds.  It will sleep 12 adults with no problem, however one of the top bunk beds has limited head room.  There is also a travel cot for a baby.

How Far is Pre La Joux from the Chalet?

Pre La Joux is about 10 mins drive.  Good M&S tyres are needed (that's mud and snow not Marks and Spencer) which should come on all rental cars.  Chains should also be included with a hire car.

Is it Possible to Rent the Chalet Catered?

You may want to consider a catered option in the chalet, either a one off or for the whole week.  We can arrange for Mrs Miggins to do all the cooking (and cleaning up) for you if they are available - it is better to book early as they are a small outfit. See www.miggins.net. 

Where is the Chalet in Relation to the Slopes?

We are in the commune of Chapelle-d'Adondance which is next door to the commune of Chatel. You can find piste maps here:

If you look on the first piste map; in the centre of the map you will see La Ville du Nant.  The chalet is near enough here.  This is about 700 m north of La Panthiaz bubble lift which takes you to the Domain de Braitaz.  From there you can link into the Swiss Torgon area and then on to Chatel and so on all the way to Avoriaz, Morzine etc..  We are about 3 km South of Chatel itself which can also be seen on the map.  We would generally drive further up the valley to Pre La Joux because the ski schools for the kids start from here (amongst other places) and the parking is good.  There is a ski bus to La Panthiaz a stone's throw from the chalet and also one to Chatel.

What are the Creche and Child Care Facilities Like?

We have been told that "Le Village des Marmottons" offer excellent facilities for 3 - 6 yr olds on a day or half day basis.  This is run by ESF.  see their site www.esf-chatel.com (if my French is correct bookings can be taken online from 15 Oct).  Also a nursery for 8 mnths to 3 yrs 8 am to 7 pm.  "Halte Garderie Les Mouflets. 

How far Are the Creche Facilities From The Chalet? 

Les Mormottons are about 2k from the chalet on the road to La Linga and Pre La Joux.  Les Mouflets are located in Chatel itself about 3 km from the chalet.  There is an underground car park in Chatel convenient for the creche and also for the lifts if you ski from there.  Also the ski bus passes by on the top road which takes you to chatel..

How Much Does Cleaning Cost?  

The cost is included - just make sure that you wash your dishes and put them away before you leave and that the place is left in a reasonable state and tidy.

How Much is the Tax? 

Tourist tax is included in the price
